What is the Best Cream to Put in Your Coffee for Ketosis?
When I make myself a coffee sure taste is important but it is not everything. I have no desire in pumping my beverage full of unknown chemicals and artificial crap.
I find that whenever I go shopping without first taking a moment to think about what I will buy and why, that every single time I make a sub optimal purchase.
What I am really after would be cream made from raw fresh milk, from a grass-fed happy cow that has not eaten antibiotics. Good luck trying to find that in today’s Supermarkets.
So what I am looking for is something that comes as close as possible to the desire above.
High in Fat!
When I am shopping for cream I am looking for something naturally high in natural fat. The more fat the better. I stay far away from anything labeled as “Fat free”, “Fat Reduced”, “Lite” or “99% fat free”. These labeled tell me they have already taken out all the good stuff and only left the carp behind, bumped up the price and advertise it as if it is something positive.
Thickeners
This is really disappointing. Why Why Why add something into the cream to make it thick? Just today I picked up an Aldi Thickened Cream. To my disappointment when I got home and real the label I see.
Thickeners (407, 412). A c\quick web search and what do I find
407
E407 Carrageenan
‘Irish Moss’ Fibre extracted from seaweed, used as a setting agent. It has recently been linked with cancer because it may become contaminated when ethylene oxide is added to an inferior product, this results in ethylene chlorohydrin forming, a highly carcinogenic compound; linked to toxic hazards, including ulcers and cancer; the most serious concerns relate to degraded carrageenan, which is not a permitted additive; however, native carrageenan, which is used, may become degraded in the gut. See 400.
412
E412 Guar gum Derived from the Seeds of Cyamoposis tetragonolobus of Indian origin; fed to cattle in the US; can cause nausea, flatulence and cramps, may reduced cholesterol levels
440
440(a)
E440(a) Pectin Naturally occurring in the skins of apples; used to thicken jams, jellies and sauces; large quantities may cause temporary flatulence or intestinal discomfort.
E440(b) Amidated pectin No known adverse effects. Treated with ammonia. See 440.
