Chapter 6 What does heart health really mean?:
The typical heart healthy medical industry promoted guidelines are assumed to be low fat and high carbohydrate. The complete opposite is true.
Cutting out the fat and eating more “healthy wholegrain” will not protect your heart.
Popular culture such as Television shows help to perpetuate the misguided low cholesterol and low fat diet message
Truth is eating fat does not make you fat and is not at fault for heart disease.
7 Why Low Fat Ain’t All That:
Most medical physician have an absolute minimum education and training in the field of nutrition. Most do less then two weeks over their degree then take it no further.
With his bogus and flawed study in 1950s Ansel Keys studied 22 countries but only published 7.
This has been responsible for the erroneous low fat diet we have been led to believe is good for us.
The big food and pharmaceutical industries are profiting from this misinformation
Sugar is the typical ingredient that is used to replace fat when it is removed from a food.
A very comprehensive study produced in 2006 revealed that a low fat diet has no positive impact on heart health had just been ignored by the industry.
Low fat diets for health reason need to be scrutinised.
